The Lawyer of Investigative Journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas has disclosed in an interview that he never accused the member of parliament of Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong of murder.
According to the Lawyer Kissi Agyebeng, he only called for the arrest of Kennedy Agyapong but never accused him of murder.
“I called for his arrest. I wasn’t accusing him of murder, that’s what he misunderstands and his supporters also misunderstand.
My training tells me if you instigate the public to go and visit violence on a person by placing a bounty on his head, that is criminal.
And this is irrespective of whether or not he is complicit in the murder of Ahmed. If no one even touched Ahmed, what he did was criminal.
That has been my point all this while and people misquote and misunderstand what I say mischievously”, the Lawyer stated.
According to the renowned Lawyer, he does not bend when it comes to principles and does not in any way subscribe to assault and violence.
This is in relation to the murder of undercover Journalist, Ahmed Hussein-Suale who was killed by unknown gunmen on a motorbike at Madina on 16th January 2019.
Ahmed was one of the lead investigators in the expose that led to huge reforms in Ghana’s football and the dismissal of the President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi.
He was shot at close range three times, twice in the chest and once in the head, killing him instantly.
Currently, no arrest has been made yet but the Police have started investigations with Kennedy Agyapong as one of the suspects.
